Thanks to everyone who came along to our singing workshop on Saturday at Greenside Community Centre, Gateshead. We really enjoyed teaching our own arrangements of ‘I Will be back Soon’, ‘Dance to your Daddy’, ‘The Lambton Worm’ and ‘Moondance’ before performing a more extended set of songs and tunes. A lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Well done to all involved.

It’s Half term and we’re currently in between a run of gigs so thought it was a good opportunity to thank Richard for hosting such a lovely ‘Concert in the Conservatory’ at his local ‘The Ship Inn’ in Acaster Malbis just outside York. It was our first visit to the pub and a real pleasure to perform to a mostly new crowd! £200 was also raised for Dementia UK from ticket sales so a win win situation! In contrast, last Saturday we then performed to a mostly local crowd in Wark Mechanics Hall, one of the regular live music nights hosted by Ian K Brown, who also did a couple of short sets too. It was great to catch up with lots of our friends for the first time this year! Next up is The Lightship in Blyth South Harbour tomorrow followed by a shared evening with Dark Sky Voices in the library at the Queens Hall in Hexham on Thursday the 15th.

We’ve had a lovely run of gigs so far and enjoyed being back on the road again. Thanks to all the organisers and to everyone who has supported us in some way or other! Great to see people out enjoying live music again at The Cheviot Centre in Wooler, St Neots Folk Festival, Tarset Village Hall, Grizebeck Community Centre and Murton Institute. We were especially pleased to meet and hear Steve Knightely perform at St Neots…what a lovely human being he is! After a short break, we now have another run of concerts to look forward to. Following a recent visit to the beautiful North West Highland region of Coigach, we have created a short video of a tune we composed during our stay in a fabulous croft in the remote area of Culnacraig. We plan to include the tune in our forthcoming concerts over the next few months! Hope you enjoy watching and listening.

Thank you to everyone who came along to our recent performances in St Wilfred’s Church, Kirkharle and St Andrew’s Church, Corbridge. We enjoyed performing again after a couple of months off and loved sharing some new material alongside some old favourites! Thanks to both churches for the warm welcome (during a very cold spell!) and particularly to Dark Sky Voices who made our joint performance in St Andrew’s so special!

It was fantastic to meet the children up at Kielder Primary School yesterday. A bitterly cold November day, but we got such a warm welcome when we arrived! We played some tunes, sang some songs and chatted about all our instruments. Thank you for having us. See you all again soon!

We’re really looking forward to performing in two different churches at the end of the November. The first is St Wilfred’s Church at Kirkharle on Friday 24th at 11.30am and then the following day at St Andrew’s Church (with Dark Sky Voices) in Corbridge on Saturday 25th at 7.30pm. Tickets are now available for both.

It was great to perform up at The Bellwether Gallery in Charlton at the weekend as part of the BAAFest Fund Raising concert! With the help of other local musicians and a lovely sell out audience, we managed to raise almost £500! Fiona also held a singing workshop in the afternoon called ‘Rounds, Reels and all that Jazz’ which also pushed the total up! Thanks to everyone who supported the event. our next performance will be up at Redefest, in Rochester, Northumberland then BAAFest itself in September! Don’t forget to book your tickets. Also performing at the festival will be Fiona’s choir ‘Dark Sky Voices‘ and Paul’s new musical venture ‘Hadrian’s Union‘, both of whom are keeping up very busy one way or another!

It’s so good to be touring again! We’ve had 3 lovely ‘away gigs’ recently and have been blessed with wonderful appreciative audiences, super sound and acoustics plus incredible weather! Combine all these and you get happy musicians! Special thanks to Debra and Derry at the Woodman Folk Club (West Midlands), Roger and Patti at St Neots Folk Club (Cambridgeshire) and the East Anglian Beer and Cider Festival in St Edmundsbury Cathedral (Suffolk)for booking us!
